Song Tracker

The purpose of Song Tracker is to benefit those who strive to lead their congregations in meaningful and inspiring worship of God through a cappella song. While this project has involved hundreds of hours (maybe thousands by now) in research, development, troubleshooting, data aggregation and cleansing, it still would not be possible without relying on the work of many others both within and outside the Lord's church... the many people, businesses and organizations who have created the hymnals and song slides... and those who have compiled worship song research, both in book and in electronic form on the internet. As the creator of Song Tracker, I want to acknowledge some of those sources (as many as I can remember!) here, presented in alphabetical order.

• A Cappella Hymns on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrQZv4weLEzpM6OTOilNAlw - hymn videos "intended to edify 4-part harmony worship". Song Tracker links to several of these videos for precisely that purpose.
• Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) - song lyrics, copyright and licensing data ("CCLI numbers") obtained through CCLI's SongSelect service.
• "Our God Reigns - The Stories Behind Your Favorite Praise and Worship Songs", a book by Phil Christensen and Shari MacDonald (ISBN 0-8254-2369-4)
• Paperless Hymnal/James Tackett - a core listing of hymns retrieved from their fantastic "song indexes" spreadsheet, available freely at their website, https://paperlesshymnal.com/tph/free/indexes.zip . If you're a worship leader, you want this spreadsheet. No, you NEED this spreadsheet! The last update was a few years back (in 2022), but still a MASSIVELY valuable resource. Download it now!
• Pleasant Hill Church of Christ on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@PleasantHillChurchofChrist - a superb collection of worship music videos provided, in their words, for "personal song practice" - which is exactly why we've linked them for Song Tracker users to benefit from their most worthy and appreciated efforts.
• Praise & Harmony/The Acappella Company - online research of songs published by Anthony K Music, as well as links to some of their YouTube-posted videos for educational/practice purposes.
• RJ Stevens Music website (rjstevensmusic.com) - clarification on hymns published in the "Hymns for Worship (Revised)" hymnal.
• "Then Sings My Soul - 150 of the World's Greatest Hymn Stories", a book by Robert J. Morgan (ISBN 0-7852-4939-7)
• And plenty of research performed directly from various hymnals both old and "new-ish" in my collection. (My very, VERY small collection, compared to Tackett's and some others I've read about!)
